MILOS: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE

Beaches:
Sarakiniko, on the north coast of Milos, is the most picturesque beach on the island. The landscape of gray-white volcanic rocks looks lunar. Tip: it's perfect for watching the sunrise. Other incredible beaches are Fyriplaka, Kleftiko (strictly by boat), and Papafragas.

Fishing Villages:
Mytakas has two bays with golden sand and turquoise waters, ideal for relaxing. Klima, on the other hand, is known for its colorful fishermen's houses, the syrmata. In the past, the upper floor was inhabited, while the lower floor was used for the boat. But Mandrakia is Philine's favorite. Between Sarakiniko and Firopotamos, it is a traditional village with a small circular harbor. Here lives Bizis, the oldest fisherman on the island.

Medusa Restaurant:
In Mandrakia, it offers Greek dishes with a sea view, famous for grilled octopus and sardines. Be sure to try the marinated anchovies and kataifi. Reservations are not possible, but it's perfect for exploring the village while you wait.

Other fabulous restaurants are Archontoula in Plaka, Flisvos in Adamas, and Yialos in Pollonia.
